They are standing and walking all over the place. They can even make their way out of the box. Their ears are starting to open, tonight one of the little girls was turning her head in wonder as I whistled to the big dogs. I never stop being amazed when I watch how things grow!

Nellie and the girls are resting on Saturday afternoon, watching "Night Court" reruns and napping!

 

Dad is checking on us!

 This morning when we were coming down the steps we noticed too many dogs in the box!

Who is?

It was Stormy and Nellie their proud parents, sniffing them and walking in circles around them . The boys and I watched as the big dogs sniffed and nudged each of the puppies while they walked in circles for at least 5 minutes. Before the boys left for school all of the puppies were standing on all four feet in the center of the box, up and alert! Ryan has decided that Stormy and Nellie were teaching their babies how to walk! Who am I to say! It was neat to watch and I have never seem any other dogs do this. (Maybe Dogs normally conduct night classes! LOL) It is wonderful that Stormy is so gentle with the pups!

Nap Time!

At this age there are two important times in a puppies life eating and sleeping.

I call it the Nap~Wine &Roll~Nap!

Comfort is so important to a puppy nap and as you will see thru the weeks, comfort and naps come in many different shapes and positions! Sometimes the boys and I will name them!

Wednesday 2-12-14

Nellie and her puppies had company tonight, before the Big Snow Storm hit. We had just weighed the pup's before Sadie's new Dad stopped by and they are all weighing about 3.5 lbs. One of the black females already has her eyes open the others will soon follow.

 The Male Pup has a handsome Blaze marking on his chest!

 Momma is checking to make sure everyone is safe!

The noisy little girl is being held so she can so to sleep. She is the first one with her eyes open and it seems to be scaring her. But she quiets down and goes righto sleep as soon as you pick her up! But she is not spoiled! 



Lunch Time 2-9-2014

It was Lunch Time at "Nellie's Nest" and Sadie the yellow female has picked up a trait like her mom, she is drinking while laying on her back!

So funny!

 It is surprising how well they get around and how good they can smell at such a young age. As soon as she jumps in the box they start wiggling over to her. When they are full they wiggle away to find a warm spot to sleep. The piggy in the picture below is trying to get one last drink before mommy stands up!

Five Little Puppies!

The next three little girls came very fast and they all look just like mommy!

 

 Nellie is doing so well, she and the pups are health and eating well. she doesn't mind company and loves all of the attention. It won't be long before she is back going  for truck rides and relaxing with her pal Mr. Jimmy!

Welcome 2-2-2014!

Nellie's Puppies were born starting at 4:00am on February 2nd 2014. She was all finished having her five sweet puppies at about 8 am.  the first one was the yellow female. This being her first litter she was not real sure what it was and she tried to bite it. but she soon caught on. By the time the second puppy was born, the only black male, she was a pro! She then had three black females. They all have been marked with white spots since both Stormy and Nellie carry the Bolo Spot trait.
